I would really like us to explore using Skype for some synchronous meetings. We can do audio conference calls or also choose to use the new desktop sharing feature to share and discuss documents or other items so all can view the same work at once. We can do desktop sharing with the cameras and still not have to let others view us live (for the camera shy folks in the group). Once we get the U.S. Cellular fundraiser campaign rolling, we could meet about how to get the word out to all LVM families to vote and to mobilize their distant families and friends to do the same.

Sandy, can you please let us know what we need to do to start holding our meetings through Skype? Thank you, Kelli

Any of us with a computer and internet should download Skype which is easy and free. Once we have this, we can agree on a time and day to meet online and we can have a Skype audio conference synchronously. For those who have web cams, they can also have video feed of others on the discussion if they want to but also can choose to turn it off and use only voice. The cool thing about the web cam is that Skypes lasted version (4.1 I think) has desktop sharing features. So...........one person on the team can share their desktop items which could be a typed document, pictures, videos, or a website and more. While we all view that person's item live we can discuss it at the same time so it is rather cool. There is no limit to the amount of people who could be in a Skype conference using audio or visual or both. One person could also be creating a document that we could all see also while we all give our input. It is also a nice way to take and share meeting minutes right while the discussion is occurring if we like. Anyone interested in downloading Skype can contact me on Skype at drwenzel to practice. I love this stuff. This is another wonderful tool for families and friends as one can call anyone on Skype for free. It is nice for loved ones apart such as in war or work across the world and more. I use it with my daughter in Florida and we love it because my grandchild will hold up the book for me to see the pictures as she reads it and I can show my daughter her cats on camera as we talk. They live here and she misses them. It's rather cool.
